»Über 300 Menschen wurden bei den Protesten im Iran getötet«

Pressemitteilung von »Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO)«, 12.11.2022 (engl. Originalversion)

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, at least 326 people including 43 children have been killed by security forces in the nationwide protests so far. Of the 43 children, nine were girls and three were Afghan-nationals. The 43 children were all under 18 years of age, but have not all been verified through document evidence. Iran Human Rights is working to obtain confirmation of their ages.

Iran Human Rights calls on the international community once again to counter the killing of Iranian people with firm and timely action and reiterates the need to establish a mechanism to hold the Islamic Republic authorities accountable for their gross violation of human rights.

Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam said: “Establishing an international investigation and accountability mechanism by the UN will both facilitate the process of holding the perpetrators accountable in the future and increase the cost of the continuous repression by the Islamic Republic.”
