Mit dem Beginn des Streikes in Würzburg ist seit dem 19. März 2012 die Bewegung für die Verteidigung der Flüchtlingsrechte in eine neue Phase eingetreten. Diese Bewegung fügt ein weiteres Blatt in die Historie der Flüchtlingsbewegung. Wir, die kämpfenden und protestierenden Flüchtlinge sind von Würzburg eine 600km lange Strecke nach Berlin gelaufen.

Around one in six of the world’s population are aged between 15 and 24. These young people are disproportionately concentrated in some of the poorest countries, where their numbers are still rising. Sub-Saharan Africa alone will have over three and half times more young people in 2030 than it had in 1980.

For months, villagers there had been protesting what they said was the local government’s latest attempt to secretly sell off their farmland to developers, as well as what they said was a village committee instated after unfair elections.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2012 is to be awarded to the European Union (EU). The union and its forerunners have for over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.
As of 2012, nearly a third of the world’s population has used the internet, and an even greater portion possesses a mobile phone. The internet has transformed the way in which people obtain news, conduct business, communicate with one another, socialize, and interact with public officials.
In the United States, the dominant narrative about the use of drones in Pakistan is of a surgically precise and effective tool that makes the US safer by enabling “targeted killing” of terrorists, with minimal downsides or collateral impacts.
This narrative is false.
