»Die Welt ist weit vom Ziel entfernt, die Entwaldung bis 2030 zu stoppen«
Bericht des Forest Declaration Assessment, 8.10.2024 (engl. Original)
The world is increasingly off track to meet the goals of halting and reversing deforestation and degradation by 2030. All actors and sectors must intensify efforts to regain lost ground and accelerate progress in the coming years. With less than six years remaining until 2030, immediate action to protect forests is essential. And leaders cannot become complacent after short-term success. One year’s or even one decade’s reduction in deforestation does not imply that long-term goals have been achieved. Curbing deforestation and degradation is an ongoing effort, not a one-time achievement.
